Happy Highlights App - Privacy Policy
Happy Highlights is a product of VODWORKS (https://vodworks.com/ ), a leading international software and technology house.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the security of any personal information received from you. This Privacy Policy sets out how/why we collect personal data via our Website (https://www.happyhighlightsapp.com/) and App, and the measures we have in place to ensure we protect your data.
Our Website does not collect any personally identifiable data. When you visit our Website we collect device information (e.g. IP address, time zone) to help us prevent fraud and also more generally understand our customers (e.g. through Google Analytics). When on the Website, we use cookies (which you can opt-out of) to help us understand how it is being used and provide you with information tailored to your individual needs. These cookies do not collect any data that will identify you personally.
Our App does collect, store and process your personal data in order to provide you with a service (i.e. use of Happy Highlights):
- During the sign-up process we collect personal information to set-up your account, this includes your name, email address and some demographic information. This information allows us to communicate with you and also better understand the profile of our users (e.g. by age, country etc.). We collect age information so that we can apply a default age restriction on content for those under 18 years old.
- Your App usage data helps us to optimise your experience (e.g. providing better music recommendations). However this is only ever analysed at an anonymised and/or aggregated level. We do not analyse your individual data - that is only for you to use for your own purposes. Analysing data at an aggregated level also allows us to improve our service for all users. For example, seeing if any features are being used less than expected, so that we can make them better.
- We use APIs to connect with streaming services so that you can access music via them. But we do not see or have access to your (personal and/usage) data held by your streaming service, and we do not share your personal/usage data from our App (e.g. mood scores) with them.
- Our App uses the YouTube API Services to allow you to access content via YouTube. You can learn more about YouTube’s Terms of Service (TOS) for users (including age restrictions) and more about Google’s Privacy Policy and how they keep your data safe.
- Our App uses Spotify’s API Service to allow you to access content via Spotify. You can learn more about Spotify’s Terms and Conditions of Use for users (including age restrictions) and more about Spotify’s Privacy Policy and how they keep your data safe.
- We do not collect any billing information. Any financial transactions are made through your app store account, and the details are not shared with us (e.g. card or PayPal details).
Happy Highlights is powered by Google’s Firebase, a cloud computing platform used for creating and hosting mobile and web applications. Our main server is based in the United States, and our teams are based in the UK, South Asia and Europe.
In the Happy Highlights app, that we only see/analyse data at an aggregated level. Our analysts will not have access to your individual data (e.g. mood and diary entries) and personal information. Aggregated data enables us to see overall trends and improve our recommendations and app features for users.
YOUR RIGHTS
Your personal data is your property and you have a number of rights that we respect.
We do not share your personal information with any third party organisations.
We may contact you via email to inform you about updates to Happy Highlights. You will have the option to “unsubscribe” should you not wish to continue hearing from us in this way.
If you are a European resident, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. When you sign-up to the App, we will maintain your information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. MINORS
Given the focus on mental welbeing, we advise caution for users under the age of 18.
CHANGES
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
